
Doug Boysen
Doug has more than 25 years of healthcare leadership experience spanning integrated delivery systems, health plans, physician organizations, governance, legal affairs, and population health. Most recently, Doug served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Samaritan Health Services, an Oregon integrated healthcare delivery system serving communities across Benton, Lane and Lincoln counties. Prior to becoming CEO, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel, and Vice President of Human Resources for Samaritan.
Before joining Samaritan, Doug served as Regional General Counsel for UnityPoint Health in Wisconsin, Assistant General Counsel for Legacy Health in Oregon, and as an attorney with the national healthcare law firm von Briesen, Purtell & Roper.
Doug's areas of expertise include health system governance, strategic planning, mergers and affiliations, payer-provider integration, value-based care, Medicaid and Medicare programs, physician alignment, organizational culture, and executive leadership. He served as Board Chair of the Hospital Association of Oregon and has chaired multiple hospital and health plan boards, including InterCommunity Health Plan, Samaritan Health Plan, Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital, and Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital.
Doug also currently serves with other industry leaders as a member of a steering committee to establish the Southern Willamette Valley Innovation Corridor with the goal of increasing economic development in the Southern Willamette Valley.
Doug received a Juris Doctor with Distinction and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with High Honors from the University of Northern Iowa.
