
Ken Provencher
Ken Provencher provides advisory, consulting, mentorship and coaching services, with a focus on payor/provider partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, health policy, strategic planning, financial health, leadership and governance.
Ken retired from PacificSource Health Plans in 2023 after 28 years with the company, including 22 years as President and Chief Executive Officer. He was just the fifth CEO in the company’s 90-year history. Over the course of his tenure, the Oregon-based company expanded into three additional states, grew from a commercial-only plan to one serving Medicaid, Medicare and commercial members, completed six acquisitions, entered into a unique joint venture with Legacy Health and grew from 100,000 to 600,000 members, $175M to $3.7B in revenue and $30M to $540M in net worth.
Prior to becoming CEO, Ken served as Vice President of Operations and Director of Provider Contracting at PacificSource. His 40 years of experience in the industry included roles with VHA Upstate New York, United Health Services and Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.
His board experience includes service on the Alliance of Community Health Plans, Oregon Health Leadership Council, Oregon Marketplace Advisory Committee, Oregon Medical Insurance Pool and United Way of Lane County boards. He currently serves on the Comagine Corporate Board, the Comagine Oregon Community Board and on the Supervisory Committee for the Oregon State Credit Union. He is also a trustee on the Oregon State University Foundation, Secretary-Treasurer of the PacificSource Foundation for Health Improvement and is Vice Chair of the Sutter Health Alliance board. In addition, Ken serves as an advisor to Tenfold Health and Delfina Care.
Ken holds a Master of Business Administration degree in healthcare management from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Providence College.
